Damon Albarn, Graham Coxon, Alex James and Dave Rowntree are re-uniting on stage at Malahide Castle as Blur on Saturday 24 June 2023.

Blur have not aged a bit since their last tour

The Park Life singer Damon Albon said: "We really love playing these songs and thought it's about time we did it again."

Singer/song writer and multi-instrumentalist Graham Coxon said: "I’m really looking forward to playing with my Blur brothers again and revisiting all those great songs… blur live shows are always amazing for me. A nice guitar and an amp turned right up and loads of smiling faces…"

Bassist, now a cheese farmer, Alex James added: "There's always something really special when the four of us get in a room. It's nice to think that on 24th June that room will be in Dublin’s Malahide Castle."

Drummer Dave Rowntree, who since became an animator, solicitor and Labour Party Councillor said: "After the chaos of the last few years, it’s great to get back out to play some songs together on a summer’s day in Dublin. Hope to see you there."

Speaking in 2013, Alex James said that "Blur came to an end in 2003 and at that point we'd been doing the same thing for 15 years and after that amount of time it does become cyclical," he said.

"We needed to go off and do other things. We've all worked with other people since then. I think splitting up was the best thing we ever did."

The band's most recent album, The Magic Whip, topped the Irish charts on its release in 2015.
