Formed in 2019, Kovanta are Zak Lennon on lead vocals, and Jude Herbert and Billy Moylan on lead and rhythm guitars, Alex Ponisi on bass, and drummer Cillian McDonnell.

Tell us three things about yourself . . .

We are aged 15 to 18. We love playing music. In our downtime we play games and sports. For the craic.

How would you describe your music?

Loud, energetic rock music heavily influenced by grunge and punk.

Who are your musical inspirations?

Nirvana, Foo Fighters, Green Day, Alice In Chains.

What was the first gig you ever went to?

Green Day for some. Guns N' Roses for others.

What was the first record you ever bought?

The Black Album by Metallica.

What’s your favourite song right now?

Man In The Box by Alice In Chains.

Favourite lyric of all time?
