This film’s adapted from the bestselling novel by Emma Donoghue, and inspired by true stories of the "Fasting Girls" phenomenon.

The Wonder sees Florence Pugh head a largely Irish cast that includes Tom Burke, Kila Lord Cassidy, Elaine Cassidy, Niamh Algar, Toby Jones, Ciarán Hinds, Dermot Crowley, Brían F O'Byrne and David Wilmot.

It’s set in 1862, just 13 years after the Great Famine.

An English Nightingale Nurse, Lib Wright (Florence Pugh), is called to the Irish Midlands by a devout community to conduct a 15-day examination over one of their own.

Anna O’Donnell (Kíla Lord Cassidy) is an 11-year-old girl who claims not to have eaten for four months, surviving miraculously on what’s described as manna from heaven.

As Anna's health rapidly deteriorates, Lib is determined to unearth the truth, challenging the faith of a community that would prefer to stay believing.

Filmed in Ireland, the screenplay is co-written by Sebastian Lelio and Donoghue along with Alice Birch.

As season 38 of the property show begins, Kirstie Allsopp and Phil Spencer (below) go house-hunting on the Kent coast - Phil's home turf.

He’s on the hunt for a home with Ellen, who is moving out from her parents' in Hertfordshire and wants to live in the midst of Margate's vibrant LGBTQ+ community.

Meanwhile, Kirstie helps young parents Sophie and Matt, who need to get out of Sophie's mum's and find their own family home in Broadstairs.

Outsiders, 10.00pm, Dave

The comedy panel show where pairs of comedians compete in survival-themed tasks returns for a second run.

Maisie Adam, Fatiha El-Ghorri, Darren Harriott, Jessica Hynes, Phil Wang and Joe Wilkinson take on their first set of three challenges, including bug racing and creating holistic treatments.

Grand Designs: House of the Year, 9.00pm, Channel 4

It’s season 7 and Kevin McCloud (below) is back with more glorious gaffs gunning for glory.

He’s joined by architect Damion Burrows, design expert Michelle Ogundehin and conservation architect Natasha Huq to review the properties in the running for the 2022 Royal Institute of British Architects House of the Year award.

They begin with five hard-to-build houses, from a playful pink beach house built to withstand fierce winds to a meticulous renovation of a 1960s home in Derbyshire and a DIY eco-home in Stirlingshire.

They also visit a difficult-to-build reimagining of a redbrick house in Dorset and a London new-build that faced challenge after challenge.

Michael Dobbs Remembers House of Cards, 10.00pm, BBC Four

Ahead of a re-run (beginning at 10.15pm) of the original BBC political drama that inspired the big Netflix hit starring Kevin Spacey, author, politician and member of the House of Lords Michael Dobbs looks back on the 1990s’ TV drama based on his best-selling novel of the same name.

Then, in episode one, chief whip Francis Urquhart struggles for promotion.
