The Philosophy Of Modern Song is the long-awaited new book from Bob Dylan, his first since his memoir Chronicles was published in 2004 and his first since winning the Nobel Prize for Literature in 2016.
Though that memoir was teasingly subtitled "Volume One", we'll have to wait a bit longer for a follow up, as this new work finds Dylan, who played Dublin’s 3Arena on Monday night, examining the songs of others.

Across sixty-six short essays, Dylan tackles everyone from Stephen Foster and Hank Williams to Cher and Elvis Costello, offering both his interpretation of the songs in question and some deeper background.
