Talk show presenter Jimmy Kimmel will return as the host of the Oscars in 2023, it has been announced.
The 95th Academy Awards will be Kimmel's third time as host. He previously hosted in 2017 and 2018.
Announcing Kimmel's return, the veteran producers of the show, Glenn Weiss and Ricky Kirshner, said: "We're super thrilled to have Jimmy score his hat trick on this global stage. We know he will be funny and ready for anything!"
"Being invited to host the Oscars for a third time is either a great honour or a trap," Kimmel joked in a statement.
"Either way, I am grateful to the Academy for asking me so quickly after everyone good said no."
Kimmel's wife, Molly McNearney, is among the executive producers of next year's Oscars. She also works as co-head writer and executive producer on Kimmel's talk show, Jimmy Kimmel Live.
The Oscar nominations will be revealed on Tuesday 24 January 2023, with a number of Irish stars tipped to be among the nominees.
The 95th Academy Awards will take place at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles on Sunday 12 March next year.
