HBO has cancelled its sci-fi drama Westworld after four seasons.
The Lisa Joy and Jonathan Nolan-created series - an adaptation of the 1973 film of the same name from writer-director Michael Crichton - won numerous Emmys, with an all-star cast including Anthony Hopkins, Thandiwe Newton, Tessa Thompson, Evan Rachel Wood and Jeffrey Wright.
However, the show's ratings had fallen sharply for seasons three and four.
In a statement, HBO said: "Over the past four seasons, Lisa (Joy) and Jonah (Nolan) have taken viewers on a mind-bending odyssey, raising the bar at every step.
"We are tremendously grateful to them, along with their immensely talented cast, producers and crew, and all of our partners at Kilter Films, Bad Robot and Warner Bros Television. It's been a thrill to join them on this journey."
