The Late Late Show, 9.35pm, RTÉ One

The Late Late Show will be Taking Care of Business this Friday night as its annual special puts the very best of Irish produce and Christmas gift ideas in the spotlight. On tonight's show, viewers will see 16 Irish entrepreneurs who have been selected from all corners of the country to showcase their products. These brave innovators will demonstrate their tenacity and resourcefulness.

Guests on the night include Sculpted by Aimee's Aimee Connolly, award-winning architectural designer Hugh Wallace, professor Luke O'Neill, and MasterChef: The Professionals judge Anna Haugh.

The Graham Norton Show, 11.10pm, BBC One

Graham is joined by actors Paul Mescal (below), Michaela Coel, Winston Duke and Emma Corrin, along with comedian and writer Richard Ayoade, and there is music by Loyle Carner, who performs his current single.

Unreported World, 7.30pm, Channel 4

Sumo wrestling is a centuries-old tradition that has its roots in the Shinto religion. Its top wrestlers hold God-like status.

All aspiring wrestlers must first be recruited by a stable, where professional sumos eat, sleep and train. However, life inside a stable is shrouded in secrecy.

Reporter Sahar Zand heads to Japan to examine the darker side of sumo, from health issues to claims of bullying and concerns of head injuries.

Peter Kay’s Stand-Up Comedy Shuffle, 9.30pm, BBC One

The stand-up comedian relives his finest career moments from the last 25 years, taking in his stage shows, theatre work and hit sitcoms including Phoenix Nights and Car Share.

Don McLean and Friends in Concert, 9.00pm, BBC Four

This show kicks off a Don McLean night.

Don McLean performs in his first television special from 1979, supported by special guest Elkie Brooks, and The Jordanaires, the first time Elvis Presley's original backing group had appeared outside the USA.

Followed at 10pm by Classic Albums: American Pie – Don McLean, and then 11pm by Sounds for Saturday: Don McLean, which features a gig from 1972.

Beyond the Bullets - Real Life During the Civil War, 8.00pm, RTÉ One

This documentary series looks at the war years of 1921, 1922 and 1923 through a social history lens.

Using a blend of text, archive, social data, reconstruction and contemporary music of the time it paints a vivid picture of what real life was like in these historically significant years.

Episode 1 covers January to June 1921.

The war of independence rages on, with much bloodshed in early January. In Irish cities, the January sales are in full swing with newspapers full of advertisements for ladies fashions.

The Cloche hat is the "It" accessory for 1921 and, for a certain set, bob cuts are all the rage.

Against the background of martial law, with civilian courts replaced by military courts, letter writers to newspapers are concerned with motor tax and the state of the roads.
