Twig, a new crime-drama starring Tin Star's Sade Malone opposite Love/Hate's Brían F O'Byrne, is currently filming in Dublin.
Written and directed by Marian Quinn, whose film 32A won the Best First Feature Award at the Galway Film Fleadh, Twig is a retelling of the Greek tragedy Antigone, set in inner city Dublin.
"When the local crime lord, Leon (O'Byrne), vows to let her brother Paulie's body rot in the street, Twig (Malone), young and iron-willed, defiantly sets out to do the right thing," reads the synopsis.
"We have an extraordinary cast, crew at the top of their game, I couldn't be happier to be back shooting this in Dublin now," said writer-director Quinn.
Twig will be released in Irish cinemas next year by Wildcard Distribution. It is funded by Fís Éireann/Screen Ireland, the Broadcasting Authority of Ireland (BAI), RTÉ and Wildcard Distribution.
