"Budget rockers" Waldorf & Cannon have released their new single, Cut Loose. We asked Philip Wallace aka Waldorf the BIG questions . . .
The track was produced and recorded by Waldorf in his studio, The Muff Shack, Co.Donegal earlier this year during some recording sessions for the bands forthcoming new album, and the song is accompanied by another DIY video.

"No gigs in pipeline at mo, we're going to wait until our new album, Music Is The Medicine, comes out next year," the band says.
"We’re going to be playing it out with a full band, we had been messing about with a four-piece lineup (a drummer and extra guitarist) last year at a few festivals, which went down really well."
Cut Loose also features some extra guitar by Paul Connolly from The Wood Burning Savages who had been part of the full band shows last year.
Tell us three things about yourself . . .
Waldorf is a qualified wine taster, Cannon is a skilled butcher. Our band is DIY through and through - we write, produce, record and mix right down to making our own videos.
How would you describe your music?
Budget Rock.
Who are your musical inspirations?
Too many to list but the Beastie Boys would definitely be up near the top, the way they evolved and can effortlessly change styles but still unmistakably sound like themselves.
What was the first gig you ever went to and the first record you ever bought/downloaded?
Gig: Anthrax. Album: AC/DC - Blow Up Your Video or Status Quo - 12 Gold Bars.
What’s your favourite song right now?
Not sure about song but fave album at the moment is probably A Foul Form by Osees, been listening to it most days since it was released last month.
Favourite lyric of all time?
I’m terrible with lyrics, find it difficult to remember my own lyrics tbh! I like it when Beck just says words that just come into his head, stuff that doesn’t really make any sense, like in Loser: "In the time of chimpanzees I was a monkey, Butane in my veins so I’m out to cut the junkie."
If you could only listen to one song for the rest of your life, what would it be?
The Source - You Got The Love, Erens bootleg remix.
Where can people find your music/more information?
Bandcamp, YouTube and on our Instagram page. Our first album is up on all the other streaming sites but recently released stuff such as our new single Cut Loose is on Bandcamp only for now until our next album comes out.
