Broadcaster Eoghan McDermott is returning to narration duties on the new season of Love Island Australia, which begins later this month.

The 39-year-old TV and radio presenter rejoins the show after he was replaced by Cork actor and comedian Stephen Mullan for the 2021 instalment of the dating show.

A press release from Australian streaming service 9Now said: "Aussie sweetheart Sophie Monk is back as host and Love Island's own Cupid, alongside the narrator, Irish presenter Eoghan McDermott, for this world-renowned reality TV show."

This is McDermott's first television gig since he left RTÉ in February 2021.

McDermott hosted 2FM's Breakfast Show alongside Doireann Garrihy for two years, with the duo winning the Best Breakfast Show at the 2020 IMRO Awards.

McDermott also hosted a number of TV and radio shows on RTÉ including The Voice, RTÉ Does Comic Relief and Drivetime on 2FM.

Love Island Australia, which is being filmed in Mallorca, Spain, begins on 31 October.
