The best takeaway teams from five categories - Chippers, East Asian, Pizza, Indian and Burgers - all must cook 30 portions of just one dish that they think best represents their takeaways.

Judges Suzie Lee and Dylan McGrath will be in the kitchen observing, but deciding the actual winner will be 30 takeaway fanatics who are mega fans of tasty food.

New or Returning Shows

The (UK) National Television Awards, 8.00pm, UTV/ITV

Joel Dommett (below) hosts the 27th edition of the ceremony, as stars and fans gather for one of the biggest nights in British TV, from the OVO Arena, Wembley.

The NTAs celebrate television's best-loved shows and stars in the only TV award ceremony where the winners are chosen entirely by viewers across the UK.

Big hitters including Heartstopper, Trigger Point's Vicky McClure and money-saving expert Martin Lewis are all in contention, as is cult hero Kaleb Cooper, breakout star of Clarkson's Farm.

The Wanted's Tom Parker also receives a posthumous nomination for his cancer documentary Inside My Head.

Will Ant & Dec make it 21 consecutive wins in the TV Presenter category?

To add to the celebrations, there will be a rousing opening performance from the Spaceman himself, Sam Ryder, as well as a showstopper from Scottish superstar Lewis Capaldi.

Ambulance, 9.00pm, BBC One

Narrated, as ever, by Christopher Eccleston (below), this fly-on-the-wall series returns for a tenth run.

Cameras observe the staff of North East Ambulance Service at work. Multiple crews in Darlington respond to a category one call for a patient in cardiac arrest.

Nicola and Claire are dispatched to a known regular caller who is feeling suicidal. The pair arrive at the patient's house, but she is nowhere to be seen.

An epileptic patient begins vomiting and loses responsiveness while being ferried to hospital, forcing Chloe to pull over to assist Becky in the back of the ambulance.

I Hate You, 10.00pm, Channel 4

Tanya Reynolds and Melissa Saint star in this comedy about two female flat mates in their mid-twenties and their intense, messy friendship in today's intense, messy world.

Charlie is organised in nature, but a bit of a worrier, while Becca has no embarrassment gene and usually arrives at the wrong decisions.

In this first episode, Charlie teases Becca for going on a date with a man in his seventies, but when Becca comes back raving about how interesting older men are, Charlie decides to find her own pensioner.

Episode two follows at 10.30pm.

The Thief, His Wife and the Canoe, 9.00pm, Virgin Media One

Fact-based drama, starring Eddie Marsan and Monica Dolan.

Plagued by debt and facing bankruptcy, John Darwin decides to fake his own death, much to the horror of his wife Anne.

They successfully pull the scam off and John goes into hiding, while Anne consoles her sons.

TS Eliot: Into 'The Waste Land’, 9.00pm, BBC Two

An exploration of TS Eliot's The Waste Land in its centenary year, uncovering for the first time the hidden personal story behind Eliot's creation of his celebrated poem.

For decades, Eliot actively discouraged biographical interpretations of his work, developing an 'impersonal theory' of poetry in which the private life of a poet was deemed irrelevant.

But in 2020 came dramatic new revelations which uncovered that, behind Eliot's mask, there was a much more personal story to be found within The Waste Land.

Simon Russell Beale performs specially recorded readings of the poem, in conjunction with Eliot's own hypnotic reading of his work.
