Golden Globe-winning actor Ian McKellen is set to star in the "family-friendly" year-round panto Mother Goose which will have its Irish premiere next March.
The Lord of the Rings and X-Men star, who has stage credits in the likes of King Lear and Hamlet will be joined by comedians John Bishop and Mel Giedroyc for what sounds like a madcap show.
Written by Jonathan Harvey (Coronation Street) with direction by Cal McCrystal (Paddington) this West End production tells the story of Mother Goose (McKellen) and her husband Vic (Bishop) who run an animal sanctuary for waifs and strays and live a wholesome life inside an abandoned Debenhams.
But their feathers get seriously ruffled when another goose (Giedroyc) flies in.

The show will also star Oscar Conlon-Morrey as Jack, Simbi Akande as Jill, Sharon Ballard as Evil Fairy Malignia and Karen Mavundukure as Good Fairy Encanta.
Mother Goose lands at the Bord Gáis Theatre on 22 March 2023. Tickets are on sale through Ticketmaster now.
