The Hollywood Reporter says John Ashton (Sergeant John Taggart), Bronson Pinchot (Serge), Judge Reinhold (Detective Billy Rosewood) and Paul Reiser (Jeffrey Friedman) are back on board for the fourth film in the series, which has gone into production.
Details of the plot have not been revealed.
Murphy, who previously played the wisecracking detective in the 1984 comedy classic, the 1987 hit sequel and 1994's poorly received third film in the series, is among the executive producers on the fourth film.
Australian director Mark Molloy is making his feature directing debut after a series of acclaimed shorts.
A release date has not been announced.
