Kate Bush's 1985 track Running Up That Hill has enjoyed a rebirth of late after featuring in an episode of Netflix hit Stranger Things, but some fans are not happy with Rita Ora's tortured version of the classic song.
Running Up That Hill topped the charts in eight countries, including Ireland, and brought Bush a whole new generation of fans, including UK pop star Ora (31), who covered it in an emotional performance at Rock in Rio set the other day.
However, fans have had a rather bad reaction to Ora’s sultry and stripped back effort, with one saying, "This must be one of the worst covers of all time."

Others have branded the cover as "Awful", "offensive" and "disrespectful".
"I'm certainly not against adventurous attempts of musical reinvention but do wish I could make my own deal with god that took me back to the moment before I chose to press play on this." tweeted another.
That's dreadful. Just because lots of notes exist, it doesn't mean you need to try and include them all in every song. You certainly don't need to try it if you're as bad as this.— Missy (@laserlipstick) September 13, 2022
After the recent success of the track, Bush became the artist with the longest gap between number one singles. Her last chart-topper was Wuthering Heights in 1978.

As well as Ora, Running Up That Hill has since been covered by Placebo, Coldplay with Alan Partridge and Meg Myers.
