Lewis Capaldi has opened up about his struggles with anxiety and his recent diagnosis of Tourette syndrome.
In a recent Instagram Live, the 25-year-old Scottish singer revealed he has Tourette's syndrome and has received Botox treatment in his shoulder to help control his tics.
Speaking to Carl Mullan on 2FM Breakfast with Doireann, Donncha and Carl, Capaldi further opened up about his condition, saying: "I was having panic attacks every night on stage, and I had started doing this mad shoulder twitch which I found out since is Tourette’s.
"All this stuff was going on and it was really making it hard to perform. It was really heartbreaking because playing music live is the whole reason I got into it, because it’s the best bit."
Capaldi, who shared his new single Forget Me on the show, also revealed that his Coppers gold card takes pride of place at the front of his wallet.
"It's the first card in my wallet," he said. "I might need to get a new one as it says it ran out in August 2017," he laughed.
When Carl suggested that he reckons the singer would get in no bother without his card, Capaldi said: "It's having the card there that is the beautiful thing."
2FM Breakfast with Doireann, Donncha and Carl airs weekdays from 6am.
