Russell Crowe: 'I'm amongst kindred spirits in Ireland'

Russell Crowe was a surprise guest on Friday's Late Late Show and the Australian star told Ryan Tubridy that he feels like he is "amongst kindred spirits" while working on his latest movie in Ireland.

The Oscar-winning actor is currently shooting his new movie, The Pope's Exorcist, in Dublin, with the production due to move to Limerick in the coming weeks.

Crowe told Tubridy that story is based on "the writings of Father Gabriele Amorth who was the Vatican's Chief Exorcist for 36 years".

And while the film is an intense shoot, Crowe admitted he is having the best time working with a "brilliant Irish crew".

He said: "We have a bunch of people that I am really loving my work time with. See sometimes my sense of humour, depending on what culture you are working with, doesn't quite necessarily work. It is quite self-deprecating and it can be aggressively stupid.

"I like to have a laugh while I work, I like to bounce the day along and some places you work in don't quite understand it.

"I do feel I am amongst kindred spirits on the set here in Ireland. We like to have a life and we also like to get stuff done."
