Dublin singer songwriter Keith Burke has released I'll Begin This Letter, the first single from his upcoming new studio album. We asked him the BIG questions . . .
Keith grew up in Skerries, Co. Dublin and has gigged in the USA, Germany, Lebanon, Italy, Spain and Egypt. He says he writes mainly about "anti-heroes, unconventional love stories and redemption in the ordinary".
The first demos of I’ll Begin This Letter were put down in Milan in 2019 and the drums, bass and organs were recorded in Camden studios Dublin in early January 2020.
As the world closed down for nearly two years the project was delayed. Recording and mixing of the album finally took place in Audioland studios in Leixlip during 2022.
How would you describe your music?

What’s your favourite song right now?
I've been listening to oldies lately. I'd have to say Ray Charles - I Got a Woman or Landslide by Stevie Knicks. I know, vastly different.
Favourite lyric of all time?
There are some many to choose from . . . but I’ll go for this from Tom Waits’ Downtown Train: "Well, you wave your hand and they scatter like crows, They have nothing that will ever capture your heart, They're just thorns without the rose, Be careful of them in the dark".
If you could only listen to one song for the rest of your life, what would it be?
One Step Up - Bruce Springsteen.
