Loose Women's Frankie Bridge has told RTÉ Entertainment that the biggest lesson she has learned about herself since becoming a panellist on the ITV show is "that I can have an opinion".

The Saturdays singer joined as a panellist during lockdown and now feels right at home on the daytime favourite.

"What I love about it is, coming from bands it wasn't really ever important about what my opinion was on something," explained Bridge.

"Coming from years of not really having one, it kind of felt quite brave to go on TV and do that."

She said Loose Women has made her realise that "I do actually quite enjoy a debate".

"I hate confrontation - I will do anything to avoid one!" she laughed.

"But actually, debating a subject with people that you like and that you know, and that you don't have to have the same opinion as everyone that is around you - I've actually really enjoyed that, which is quite a shock to me, I think!"

When asked what she thinks the viewers' biggest misconception is about Loose Women, Bridge replied: "I think a lot of the time they want to say that you don't all get on.

"If we have a disagreement on the show, it's like [viewers think] that's it, you're not going to talk to each other. But we're all grown-ups. You don't have to have the same opinion. That's kind of the whole point of the show!"

Loose Women airs weekday afternoons on Virgin Media One and ITV.
