Aretha Franklin Night on BBC Four

Aretha Franklin: A Tribute to the Queen of Soul at the Proms, 8.00pm, BBC Four

Jules Buckley debuts his new ensemble, and is joined by American singer and Quincy Jones protégée, Sheléa, to showcase the songs made famous by the Queen of Soul.

Aretha's live performances were visceral rituals, in which she bared her soul.

Her version of Otis Redding's Respect became an anthem of both the Civil Rights Movement and gender empowerment. In 2009 she performed at Barack Obama's first inauguration as US President.

Presented by Clara Amfo from the Royal Albert Hall.

Aretha Franklin: Duets, 10.00pm, BBC Four

Musical admirers including Elton John, Gloria Estefan, Smokey Robinson (below), PM Dawn, Bonnie Raitt and Rod Stewart share a stage with the Queen of Soul.

The concert took place at New York City's Neederlander Theatre in 1993, as an AIDS benefit. Elton, Smokey and Rod provide backing vocals on the first number Chain of Fools.

Amazing Grace, 11.00pm, BBC Four

Jaw-dropping concert recording of Aretha Franklin as she produced her 1972 gospel album Amazing Grace at the New Temple Missionary Baptist Church in Los Angeles.

The film remained unreleased at the time due to technical problems and only saw the light of day after the singer's death in August 2018.

Aretha Franklin: Respect, 12.25am, BBC Four

A tribute to the legendary singer, featuring Tom Jones, Beverley Knight, Clarke Peters and Trevor Nelson among others.

This episode should be fun and lively as Harry Hill (below) and Shaun Ryder join the domestic mystery game.

Judi Love and Richard Madeley join them as they try to work out which of four players is the real Ellie, owner of a two-bedroom ex-council flat in Pollokshields, Glasgow.

Two of the potential owners enter a heated argument about where the best shops are in the neighbourhood and the quartet of Ellies are invited to talk about their relationship with the true owner's brother.

Plus, all four into the real homeowner's wardrobe to try to prove the eclectic clothes therein belong to them.

The third and final season of this future/primitive drama, starring Jason Momoa.

It follows the story of tribe leaders Baba Voss (Momoa) and Paris (Alfre Woodard) living in a post-apocalyptic dystopia where some of its members have the mythical power to see.

Season 3 is set to pick up from the events of the previous finale, which saw Baba Voss defeat his brother Edo (Dave Bautista) and leave the world he loved behind to live an isolated life in the forest.

And now Baba's new way of life is under threat from a Trivantian scientist, forcing him to return to Paya.

Each episode will drop weekly on Friday.
