15 more Roses will be ready to bloom in Tralee tonight as the countdown begins for the crowning of the 2022 Rose of Tralee.
Following Monday's opening night of the ceremony, which saw 18 Roses take part in a spot of mime falconry and ice bath dunking with action man host Dáithí Ó Sé, Roses from all over the globe will be on stage at the Munster Technological University's Kerry Sports Academy.
Monday night saw the festival return to TV screens for the first time since 2019 and Dáithí appear for the eleventh time as the host of the Rose of Tralee Festival - and not only did he have to take a plunge in an ice bath, but he also decorated cupcakes, battled with a lightsaber and conducted a chemistry experiment.
The event saw the Roses perform a number of emotional songs, recite poetry and share their ties to Ireland.
For the first time in the history of the festival, trans women and married women were allowed to enter the festival. However, organisers say no married or trans women were in the festival, despite the changed rules.
