Don’t Miss
The Joy of ABBA, 10.00pm, BBC Four
Want some ABBA? Sure, why not? It’s Friday night and the lights are low.
Another chance to see this documentary exploring how the pop group raised the bar for their music genre in the 1970s and early '80s, popularising the sound of Swedish melancholy.
The programme explores how the quartet of Agnetha Faltskog, Bjorn Ulvaeus, Benny Andersson and Anni-Frid Lyngstad came to dominate the charts with simple, catchy melodies, but also divided opinion due to the populist sheen of their output.
Followed at 11pm by Agnetha: ABBA and After, a documentary telling the story of Agnetha Faltskog's music career as both a member of the Swedish pop group and a successful solo singer in her own right.
Then at 12am there’s ABBA at the BBC, a collection of memorable performances by the group on a 1982 edition of, including on Noel Edmonds' Late, Late Breakfast Show, which was ABBA's last televised appearance in the UK.
And if you’re up for it, there’s Flat Pack Pop: Sweden's Music Miracle at 1am, where James Ballardie charts Sweden's rise as a musical superpower, exploring the unique songwriting formula that inspired some of the biggest hits of the last 30 years.

Walk the Line, 9.35pm, RTÉ One
Here’s a chance to see the biopic of country singer Johnny Cash. Would make a great double-bill (remember them?) with Baz Luhrmann’s Elvis.
Joaquin Phoenix and an Oscar-winning Reese Witherspoon are great as Cash and June Carter.

Traumatised by the death of his brother as a child and scorned by his father, Cash leaves Arkansas to serve in the US Air Force in Germany, where he starts to write songs.

All the while fellow singer and future wife June Carter seems to be the only person standing between him and self-destruction.

One-year-old golden retriever Bertie developed a dislocated hip joint and curvature of his spine and is in a lot of pain.
