Dublin-set mystery series Harry Wild given green light for second season

The Dublin-set, Jane Seymour-starring mystery series Harry Wild has been renewed for a second season by US network AMC for its streaming service Acorn TV.

The hit series will see Seymour return as the titular sleuth - a recently retired English professor who finds her way into the cases assigned to her garda detective son, Charlie (Kevin Ryan) - for a further eight episodes in 2023.

AMC said the show had become "the most successful series launch and most-watched season of any series on Acorn TV in 2022".

Harry Wild is available to watch on the RTÉ Player

"We knew this series was special from the beginning and could not be more thrilled by the response of Acorn TV viewers to this first season of Harry Wild and to see the remarkable Jane Seymour leading and producing a thrilling murder mystery on our platform," said Matt Graham, General Manager of Acorn TV at the Television Critics Association press tour in the US on Wednesday.

The cast of Harry Wild also includes Stuart Graham, Amy Huberman, Rohan Nedd, Rose O'Neill and Paul Tylak.

Recently screened on RTÉ One, Harry Wild is created and written by David Logan (Lost Christmas) with Jo Spain, who wrote the RTÉ drama Taken Down and is the author of the best-selling Inspector Tom Reynolds series.

Harry Wild is available to watch on the RTÉ Player.
