Tell us three things about yourself . . .
I love to cook. I love to draw, and I love to listen to Jazz on Sunday mornings.
How would you describe your music?
Various styles. I love loadsa stuff like garage rock, indie, alt country and folk. You can hear that in my songs. It’s essentially ’sham-rock’.
Who are your musical inspirations?
The Doors, Neil Young, Bob Dylan, Lucinda Williams, The Replacements, Nick Cave, The Pogues to name a few.
What was the first gig you ever went to?
The Pogues in Shinrone, Co. Offaly around 1989.
What was the first record you ever bought?
When I was five, I swapped a vinyl Jungle Book album for a Shakin’ Stevens cassette because I loved This Ole House. Elvis vibes!
What’s your favourite song right now?
I heard Polk Salad Annie by Tony Joe White good and loud in Crete the other night in a little dive bar and it’s a killer track! Serious driving energy, primal and sexy.
Favourite lyric of all time?
Of all time, I dunno. I like this, from The Mero by Pete St. John. 'There’s someone under the bed, Whoever can it be? I feel so bloody nervous, I ask for Joanie, Joanie lights the candles, But there’s no one there . . . Hey-hi, fiddley-ai and out goes she!’
If you could only listen to one song for the rest of your life, what would it be?
The wind by God.
Where can people find your music/more information?
My website, iTunes, Apple Music, Spotify, YouTube etc and I am in some record stores somewhere!!
