Rik Mayall: Lord of Misrule, 9.45pm, BBC Four
British comedian and actor Rik Mayall died suddenly in June 2014 at the age of 56.
He left behind a body of work that spanned four decades and was a blend of rocket-fuelled physical comedy, surrealism, subversive satire and pompous punk wit.
Mayall's characters included the Black Country investigative nerd Kevin Turvey, Felicity Kendal-adoring student poet Rick in The Young Ones, unemployed oddball Richard Richard in Bottom.

Then there were the darker roles, such as ruthless MP Alan B'Stard in The New Statesman and the roguish Lord Flashheart, who appeared in the second and fourth season of the legendary Blackadder.
Narrated by Simon Callow, this documentary celebrates Mayall's career, with contributions by Michael Palin, Simon Pegg, Lenny Henry, Ben Elton, Alexei Sayle, Christopher Ryan, Tim McInnerny, Jools Holland, Ruby Wax and Greg Davies.

Generations of football fans have enjoyed this highlights show, which has been a television staple since 1964.
Gary Lineker (below) presents action from the opening English Premier League fixtures of the season, including Fulham v Liverpool at Craven Cottage and Chelsea v Everton at Stamford Bridge.
Newly-promoted Fulham faced a tough task against last season's runners-up, while last term's third-placed team Chelsea will have expected a winning start against an Everton side that struggled during the 2021/22 campaign.
Plus, Crystal Palace v Arsenal, Bournemouth v Aston Villa, Leeds United v Wolverhampton Wanderers, Newcastle United v Nottingham Forest and Tottenham Hotspur v Southampton.

Here’s one of those bands from Birmingham that became a global phenomenon in the 1980s.
Here are highlights of the band's performance at the BBC Radio Theatre in December 2021, featuring classic hits such as Hungry Like the Wolf, Notorious, Ordinary World, Planet Earth and Save a Prayer.
For better or worse, the set also features music from their most recent album Future Past.

Now, the former right back Micah Richards (below) is going from punditry to punking in a new comedy series.
Filmed on location around the UK, Player Pranks are large scale hidden camera pranks planned to create hilarious reactions from the footballers.
In each episode, two different premier league football stars, WSL stars or football legends are pranked in epic hidden-camera wind-ups.
The pranks are kept light and after the big reveal everyone sees the funny side.

This record featured a range of African musical talent including Ray Phiri, Bakithi Kumalo, Youssou N’Dour, Mike Makhalemele, and Ladysmith Black Mambazo.
