Dom Martin, Parchman Farm and Sean Millar are among the 33 acts playing free gigs at this year's Howth Roots and Blues Festival in Dublin from 5 to 7 August.

Taking place in the fishing village near Dublin, the festival, which was organised by Paul Byrne of In Tua Nua for Howth Tourism, showcases the best in Irish roots and blues artists with many country, bluegrass, americana and reggae artists also playing shows across six venues.

Dom Martin, who recently won two categories at the UK Blues Awards, headlines the event, which will also see the Dublin Blues Cartel (featuring Mik Pyro), Seafoam Green, Bajjna, The Lee Meehan Quintet, Square Pegs, The Mary Stokes Band, Rusty Jacks, and Niall Toner Band playing shows in venues including The Summit Inn, McNeills, The Bloody Stream, and The Harbour Bar.

Several of the venues have created outdoor spaces for summer gigs while others will create them for the festival. The Summit Inn will have the Tramline Stage, an outdoor performance space facing across a green area, while The Bloody Stream has the Phil Lynott Stage in their tented beer garden.
