Noel Fitzpatrick returns for a new run of The Supervet, US comedy I Love That For You arrives, Germany face Austria in the Euros, and there’s a revealing documentary about Big Oil vs the World . . .

Pick of the Day

The Supervet, 8.00pm, Channel 4

It’s season 17 of Irish vet Noel Fitzpatrick’s series. That’s some haul.

In this opener, cameras catch up with the work of the pioneering veterinary practice, where some of the hardest-to-cure pets receive cutting-edge treatment.

When one-year-old shepherd doodle Raven started limping at only a few months old, his local vet diagnosed double hip dysplasia.

Now, owners Alan and Jane find themselves at Fitzpatricks to discuss possible total hip replacement for both back legs.

Also receiving help are kitten Fury, who has a suspected tibia injury sustained during boisterous play and police dog Trigger who has degenerative lumbosacral stenosis, causing pain in his lower back.

Don’t Miss

The Thing About Pam, 10.15pm, RTÉ One

This oddly Fargo-esque, fact-based crime drama about a murder in small-town Missouri, starring Renee Zellweger as the eponymous Pam, continues.

It doesn’t paint a positive picture of middle America, as basically every character involved seems to have the IQ of a goldfish, bar Pam, who’s merely a morally repulsive and dull individual.

This time out, DA Leah Askey calls Pam to the stand as a witness for the prosecution, even as Joel Schwartz tries to poke holes in the case against Russ.

By the way, all six episodes of The Thing About Pam land today on Paramount+ today.

Live UEFA Women's Euro 2022, 7.30pm, RTÉ2/BBC One

Coverage of the second quarter-final, which comes from Brentford Community Stadium, as Germany (below) face Austria (KO 8.00pm).

Comfortable victories over the Danes, Spain and Finland in the group stage this time around will have given Germany high hopes of adding to their record eight European titles.

Austria lost their opener to England in Group A, but victories over Northern Ireland and Norway ensured they qualified as runners-up, and will aim to emulate their 2017 achievement of reaching the semi-finals.

Peter Collins presents, with analysis from Megan Campbell and Stephanie Roche, and commentary by George Hamilton and Stephen Kelly.

Bette Davis: A Basically Benevolent Volcano, 8.00pm, BBC Four

Ian Holm narrates this documentary, originally broadcast in 1983, about Hollywood icon Bette Davis.

Louis Theroux's Forbidden America, 10.30pm, RTÉ2

Another chance to see this hair-raising series, first shown on the BBC.

The film-maker returns to the US to explore the impact of the internet and social media on some of the most controversial corners of American society.

He begins by meeting the new influencers of the far-right who are promoting an ideology that is defiantly racist, misogynistic, homophobic and anti-Semitic, often packaging the most extreme views as irony.

Louis Theroux attempts to understand their recent surge in popularity and challenges the divisive rhetoric that is being streamed to millions of young viewers online.
