They are all battling for a place in the epic final, to win the potentially life-changing £250,000 prize money, plus the chance to perform at the iconic Royal Variety Performance in London.

This week social historian Donal Fallon (above) examines the science behind hangovers, asks how a bilingual baby's brain handles two languages and looks at whether it is acceptable to colourise historical photographs.

He also investigates who invented the Leaving Cert and whether it it getting easier.

The Chris & Rosie Ramsey Show, 9.00pm, BBC Two

The husband and wife host the comedy entertainment show on which they are joined by other celebrity couples to poke fun at life, growing up, relationships, arguments, annoyances, parenting and everything in between.

This time around they are joined by Strictly Come Dancing judge Craig Revel Horwood (above) and his fiancé Jonathan Myring.

Sharon Ní Bheoláin (above) presents the monthly appeal for help from the public in solving crimes, featuring reconstructions, CCTV footage, news features and a panel of police advisers taking calls.

Springwatch, 8.00pm, BBC Two

Chris Packham and Michaela Strachan (below) are back at Wild Ken Hill in Norfolk to showcase the very best of the season's wildlife across the UK.

Iolo Williams returns to the Isle of Mull to view eagles, otters and orca, while Megan McCubbin goes on a spring road trip around the north-east of England.

She'll be visiting Kielder Forest, Hauxley Nature Reserve and Newcastle city centre, revealing the wildlife that call these places home in spring.

New Elizabethans with Andrew Marr, 9.00pm, BBC Four

Documentary following the rigid, class-obsessed Britain of the 1950s to the more liberal, inclusive society in the latter part of - you guessed it - the Queen's reign.

Andrew Marr (above) begins by taking in the liberal victories of the `permissive society" - as well as the ferocious backlash of middle England at the perceived erosion of family values.

He also looks at people's attitudes to movie starlet Diana Dors and wannabe movie starlet Ruth Ellis - who achieved fame of a completely different kind.

Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore, Sky Store

Earth from Space, 8.00pm, BBC Four

In the final episode of the series, cameras in space show that the surface of the Earth is changing at a rapid pace as cities grow, forests disappear and glaciers melt.

In ever growing grey of cities one man is feeding thousands of parakeets, while in Sumatra, a female orangutan and her daughter face life in a forest under threat.

Elsewhere in Tanzania, local people use satellites to re-plant a forest, securing the future for a family of chimpanzees.
