Nick Cave has thanked his fans following the death of his son Jethro Lazenby earlier this month at the age of 31.
Posting on Cave's blog, The Red Hand Files, a fan said she was sending her "collective love" in the wake of the tragedy.
"I have no question for you today," Teresa from Australia wrote. "I just wanted to send my heartfelt condolences on the tragic loss of Jethro. All I can do is offer the collective love of all who read your letters. Much love to you and all your family."

Cave replied, "Dear Teresa. Thank you for your letter. Many others have written to me about Jethro, sending condolences and kind words. These letters are a great source of comfort and I’d like to thank all of you for your support."
Nick Cave appealed for privacy following Jethro’s death on May 9.
"With much sadness, I can confirm that my son, Jethro, has passed away. We would be grateful for family privacy at this time." the singer said in a statement to NME.
Cave lost another son, 15-yer-old Arthur, in 2015 when he fell to his death from a cliff in Cave's adopted hometown of Brighton in the UK.
Jethro was born in Melbourne in 1991 and only learnt that Cave was his father aged eight.
He worked as a model and also appeared in movies such as 2007’s Corroboree and 2011’s My Little Princess. Recently, he had been working as a photographer.
