Pick of the Day

The Late Late Show, 9.35pm, RTÉ One

Sky News presenter Kay Burley, Ultimate Hell Week leader Ray Goggins and The Blizzards are among the guests for this week's show.

Broadcaster Kay Burley will join Ryan Tubridy to chat about what Boris Johnson is really like, why attitudes to women in the House of Commons are 30 years behind the rest of the world, and what the results of the Northern Ireland Assembly Elections might mean for relations on these islands.

From the hills of south Lebanon to the snow-covered Balkans and the monsoon jungles of Southern Asia, former Irish Special Forces Deputy Commander and Special Forces: Ultimate Hell Week leader Ray Goggins knows what it is like to enter a warzone.

As the war in Ukraine continues, he'll be discussing what those on the ground can expect over there, how to deal with a crisis and how the military mindset can be channelled into tackling any situation.

Also: Junk Kouture is back for its 12th year and some of the finalists will be on the show to demonstrate their amazing creations, Sharon Shannon, Liam Ó Maonlaí and others promote their charity album, and The Blizzards (above) also perform.

Over the next decade until her own death, she tracked down and tape-recorded interviews with some of the extraordinary characters that populated the iconic singer's short and tumultuous life.

This documentary draws on that archive, capturing Holiday's depths and complexity through the words of those who knew her best.
