Kicking Off: The Rise and Fall of the Super League, 9.30pm, BBC Two

This documentary assesses the events of April 2021, when 12 of Europe's biggest football clubs announced they were forming their own breakaway competition, the European Super League.

It also looks back at the outrage voiced by the media and football fans alike, and asks what really led to these owners forming such an unlikely alliance.

They included American hedge funds, Russian oligarchs, European industrial tycoons and Gulf royals to attempt to seize control of the revenues of the world's most popular sport.

The chef returns with the series in which he travels to incredible and remote locations across the world in search of culinary inspiration.

He begins by exploring Tasmania, off the coast of southern Australia, where he discovers the purity of the island.

That includes him diving into shark-infested waters for giant saltwater spiny lobsters and avoiding venomous snakes in the bush while foraging for local herbs.

Part one of this history and science series reveals the untold stories of the great epidemics of Ireland's past.

It begins with smallpox, cholera and typhus, the historical diseases that raged through Ireland leaving devastation in their wake.
