It's been 35 years since Baby took a trip to Kellerman's with her family, and with a new sequel in the works, it has been confirmed that Jennifer Grey will reprise her famous role.

Movie makers Lionsgate made the announcement during a presentation at ComicCon in Las Vegas.

While no further details were given, a voiceover simply said: "Jennifer Grey returns to Kellerman's in the next chapter."

Kellerman's was the upscale Catskills resort where the original 1987 classic was set.

The original movie followed Grey's character, Frances 'Baby' Houseman, who spends the summer of 1963 at the resort with her family.

During her stay, she falls in love with dance instructor, Johnny Castle, played by the late great Patrick Swayze, who passed away from stage IV pancreatic cancer in 2009 at 57 years of age.

The film also starred Jerry Orbach, Cynthia Rhodes, Jack Weston, Kelly Bishop, Jane Brucker, Lonny Price and Wayne Knight.

Dirty Dancing took in over $64 million at the box office from just a $6 million budget and also won an Oscar for Best Original Song for (I've Had) The Time Of My Life.

The 1987 movie has had a few spin-offs including Havana Nights in 2004.

There was a TV series in 1988, and TV movie in 2017, which did not really take off. However the stage version of the movie, that started life in Australia and toured the world, has been a huge success.
