Mullingar band The Blizzards have returned with their new single Play God, along with a video shot in and around their hometown.
The track follows the release of recent singles Friction Burns and Trigger Me and the band say Play God is "inspired by a close friend and represents the fragility of life".
The four-piece, who are fronted by Niall Breslin, say, "Only when we are born and when we face our demise do we realise what really matters in life.
"And often in between we lose that sense of what matters, our sense of self and what we stand for. A clarity that unveils itself during a time of pain and realisation of putting your life in someone else's hands and asking for help.’
Like the band’s previous videos, the promo film for Play God was shot by Mullingar creative company Bronte Design in local sites like the now abandoned Ritz Cinema.
Play God recently featured in Sasha King’s documentary, Vicky, which followed Vicky Phelan’s battle for justice and reform, access to treatments, and the stories of women who have passed away.
