Danny Dyer has promised EastEnders fans that the exit storyline for his character Mick Carter will be "epic".
The actor, 44, who recently announced that he will stop playing the Queen Vic landlord after nine years on the soap, made his comments on the BBC Radio 2 breakfast show with Zoe Ball.
He was on the show to mark the debut of the new EastEnders set and the soap's schedule change to a fixed 7:30pm slot on BBC One.
"We've just been pitched my leaving storyline, which I can't tell you, which is going to be epic," Dyer teased. "It's huge."
Co-star Kellie Bright, who plays his on-screen wife Linda Carter, said: "It is going to be epic. I don't know how I am going to get through it, actually.

"Obviously, I am very sad that Danny's going, but it is going to be very, very exciting."
Dyer also confirmed that he will be making a new travel show with his daughter Dani, as he said he is leaving EastEnders to do more work with the former Love Island winner.
"Yes, we are doing it soon," he said.

"I want to work with my Dani a lot more. I think one of the reasons I have decided to leave the show is because I do want to explore working with my little Dani, do you know what I mean?
"I love her so much and I think we have such a natural chemistry, such an interesting relationship. I think it needs to be explored more, so we are excited about that."
