Bob Odenkirk has said that he's "very lucky" to be alive after he suffered a heart attack on the set of Better Call Saul last July in New Mexico.

The 59-year-old actor plays oily lawyer Saul Goodman in the Breaking Bad spin-off, and he was rushed to hospital while filming on the final season.

Speaking The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, where he was promoting his new memoir, Odenkirk praised the medical professionals who helped him, naming the show's health officers Rosa Estrada and Angie Myer, who administered CPR on him.

Odenkirk, who starred in the acclaimed thriller Nobody last year, added that he doesn't remember the day of his heart attack happened or the week he spent in hospital recovering.

He made a swift recovery and was able to resume filming on the final season of his Netflix show, which wrapped two and half weeks ago, six weeks later.
