Generation Dating, 9.00pm, Virgin Media One
This week’s odd coupling looks fascinating.
69-year-old London-Irish Michael Kevin Burke is a dapper, adventurous but level-headed guy who returned from Blighty to live in his ancestral home of Sligo three years ago.
A former member of the gay men's choir in London, he’s old school to the core, and has no time for Tinder or hook-up culture and reckons the world of dating has moved on without him.
He meets charming 21-year-old Ross Fennell, known to his friends as 'The Pope Of Tallaght’ on account of being known everywhere he goes in West Dublin.
Ross is not entirely comfortable showing his gay side and prefers to hang out with friends in the ‘straight world’.
Ross lives at home with his mum and grandparents, who are keen for him to find someone but also very protective of him.
Finné, 9.30pm, TG4
This is some story.
Kerry man Seán Binder was working as a volunteer rescuer on land and in the sea in Greece in 2018.
Although he fully cooperated with the authorities, he was arrested for his humanitarian work and spent 106 days in pre-trial detention.
The charges against him include money laundering, espionage and illegal smuggling. The case remains ongoing and Seán could face 25 years imprisonment.

Having escaped from her native Australia, Sammy’s (Sarah Kendall) situation is barely improved as the 1980s-set comedy returns for a second season.
Now living in a tiny London flat while frantically trying to prove that her lawyer (Robert Webb) has stolen her house, she’s barely able to make ends meet working in ‘exhaust management’ (read: working as a secretary in a muffler repair shop).
This sophomore run finds Sammy desperate to find a way to reclaim her opulent London life, while keeping her kids far away from Australia and hiding the truth about what happened to their neighbour.
Great Escapes with Morgan Freeman, 10.00pm, Sky History

Morgan Freeman is stepping behind bars and bringing to life the most incredible real-life prison breaks from history in this brand new eight-part series.
Great Escapes delivers an in-depth look into various cases of renowned breakouts from some of history’s toughest prisons.
The escapes vary from the legendary US Alcatraz to the World War II jailbreak from the Stalag Luft III Prisoner of War camp, on which The Great Escape movie is based.
Of local interest, there’s the UK’s biggest-ever prison break in which IRA members figured a way out of the Belfast prison known as The Maze.
I still think the helicopter escape from Dublin’s Mountjoy is the most audacious – but I’ve no idea if it gets mentioned here.
