Northern Irish alternative rock band Red Eye Pariah have released their new single, The Woman? We asked them the BIG questions . . .

Formed in April 2020 by Joe Dawson, Deano Kelly, Sammy Stevenson and Deano Kelly, the band live in the Belfast/Antrim area and come from well-respected acts within the local scene.

The trio have already released two singles, Kamikaze Kid and The Score, and recruited fourth and final member Alex Close.

Last year they supported Golden Globe winning actor Michael C. Hall and his band Princess Goes to the Butterfly Museum in Dublin's Workman’s Club.

Tell us three things about yourself?

We are a lockdown band. Definitely the strangest time to be a new band but it’s has definitely been the most interesting.

We sold out our first show! We had been doing everything online and once things looked like they were going to open up, we booked it and the rest is history.

We work with local artists and businesses based in Ireland for all our merch and promotional material. We’re strong believers in shopping local.

How would you describe your music?

The best way to describe Red Eye Pariah and our music is similar to £1 pick `n’ mix. You get all the classic indie alt rock roots with wee surprises of rap verses, songs to the beat of oom-pah-pah and reggae intros/outros.

Who are your musical inspirations?

We all have very different inspirations which makes for a more unique sound. Our top three would be Arctic Monkeys, Kings of Leon and Jamie T.

What was the first gig you ever went to and the first record you ever bought/downloaded?

Deano - My first gig was Motörhead. First album bought was Inflammable Material by Stiff Little Fingers.

Alex - My first record was the Slim Shady LP and my first gig was Busted.

Sammy - My first gig was Ed Zealous and first album was Moby’s Play.

Joe - My first gig was Foo Fighters and my first album was Gorillaz self-titled.

What’s your favourite song right now?

Alex: Walk on Water - Baroda.

Deano: Yard Act - The Overload.

Sammy: The La’s - Feeling.

Joe: Kings of Leon - Don’t Matter.

Favourite lyric of all time?

Reckless Serenade - Arctic Monkeys: "Called up to hear the voice of reason and got the answer machine"

If you could only listen to one song for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Mr Blue Sky - Electric Light Orchestra. It just always gets us in a great mood when we hear it. A great way to turn up your good energy.

Where can people find your music/more information?

Our music is available on all streaming platforms and we’re on all social media including Instagram, Facebook, Bandcamp and anything else you can think of. We’ve got a headline show booked in the Deer’s Head in Belfast on March 25 and we’ll definitely be back in Dublin this year so keep your red eyes peeled!
