Then, when a saviour emerges from the most unexpected quarter, even Val has to recognise that she may have been following the wrong lead all along.

Dead of Night, 7.00pm, Talking Pictures TV
Ealing Studios is normally associated with classic comedies such as Kind Hearts and Coronets, The Ladykillers and The Lavender Hill Mob, but it also created great dramas and this classic horror movie.
It’s a portmanteau of spooky stories told by people arriving at a house in the English countryside who are unaware why they’re there, and it’s an absolute treat.
