Harry Styles, who is set to perform at the Aviva Stadium this June 22, has been forced to cancel his Australian and New Zealand dates due to "the continuing challenges for international touring".

Concert promotors Live Nation have confirmed that the Australian and New Zealand leg of Styles' Love On Tour, which has been delayed numerous times due to the pandemic, have been officially cancelled.

The former member of One Direction was scheduled to perform arena dates in Australia in November of 2020, but the shows were postponed indefinitely due to the coronavirus pandemic.

"I really hope to play the shows as planned for 2021 but will continue to monitor the situation over the coming weeks and months." Styles said at the time.

His shows in Europe and the UK originally scheduled for April of 2020 were then pushed back to February and March 2021, and then postponed indefinitely in December of 2020.

Styles played the North American stage of the world tour last year, performing dozens of shows between September and November of 2021.

On Wednesday, promotors announced rescheduled UK, Europe, including the Aviva on June 22, and South America tour dates for 2022.

However, there was no mention of Australian or New Zealand gigs.

"Due to the continuing challenges for international touring, the Harry Styles Love On Tour is unable to be rescheduled for Australia & New Zealand in 2022," says an update on Live Nation's Australian website.

"The current arena tour will be cancelled whilst we work towards a new tour, with all ticket holders receiving a full refund accordingly."

In his own statement in an email sent to ticketholders, Styles said: "To everyone in Australia and New Zealand, I can't believe it’s been four years.

"I can’t wait to see you again, but unfortunately it is just not possible at this time. I will be sharing news soon about new shows. I love you all so much. I miss you, and I can't wait to see you."
