The juicy third episode of the official Dancing with the Stars podcast features backstage chats with contestants Jordan Conroy, Matthew McNabb and Aengus MacGrianna.

Presented by former DWTS champion Lottie Ryan, along with Cork singer-songwriter Lyra and TV star Brian Dowling, the podcast delves into last Sunday's episode of the dancing competition, which saw the last six hopefuls take to the dancefloor.

The first six contestants had made their dancefloor debut in the first episode, and Lottie said "the fire was lit" now all of the competitors have shown what they're made of.

With the first elimination "looming" in week three, Dowling, who was a previous contestant on the show, said: "You can not be the first person that leaves, the nerves can be crippling."

Lottie spoke to former news anchor Aengus MacGrianna directly after he made his dancefloor debut. He said he was looking forward to using the judge's critique of his Charleston with Emily Barker (scoring 16 points), to improve his next performance.

"I certainly wasn't bruised by any of the comments and anything that was said that it was constructive criticism and that," he said.

"I was able to take it on the chin and say, 'Yeah no tell me what I need and I will really, really go and try and incorporate that'."

Rugby Union star Conroy revealed how he got in the headspace for his spectacular Salsa with Salome Chachua, scoring 22 points.

"I know when it's crunch time, it was me and Salome nothing else, and I just said [to myself] do your best, stay in character. I just wasn't expecting that result."
