Speaking about the track, Sarah says, "I was inspired to write it by the `leap second' that we had to add to the New Year’s Eve countdown back in 2016, in order to compensate for the slowing of the Earth’s rotation caused by the moon’s gravitational pull."

Tell us three things about yourself?

I spent New Year’s Eve binge-watching the new series of Cobra Kai with my husband and kids. I love all chocolate with the exception of orange-flavoured chocolate, which I can’t stand. I make a mean lasagne.

How would you describe your music?

Eclectic - I really struggle to find a genre or category to fit into. I sing and I write songs and I play acoustic and electric guitars, keyboard (or piano if there is one) and drum.

Who are your musical inspirations?

Ella Fitzgerald, Nick Drake, Carole King.

What was the first gig you ever went to and the first record you ever bought/downloaded?

I’m pretty sure the first gig I went to was when I was 14 or 15 - some friends of mine, also secondary school students, had a band called The Very Nice Plants and managed to get a gig at a free outdoor summer concert series in a local park. And the first record I ever bought was the 12-inch single of Rapper’s Delight by The Sugarhill Gang. I was 13 years old when that track came out and I went straight out and bought it. I still have it! On vinyl!

What’s your favourite song right now?

Oh gosh, that’s a tough one. There are so many good songs! But one I heard for the first time relatively recently that’s been going through my head ever since is by a fantastic new Dublin-based Irish artist called Keeley - it’s called To A London Sunrise.

Favourite lyric of all time?

"Ink on a pin/Underneath the skin/An empty space to fill in" Blue, by Joni Mitchell.

If you could only listen to one song for the rest of your life what would it be?

The Raven, by The Alan Parsons Project. On my last tour I had it as my walking-off music at every gig, and I never got tired of it.

Where can people find your music/more information?

On my website, where you’ll also find links to my music on YouTube, Spotify, social media and so on.
