Following news that the Critics Choice Awards have been postponed because of rising Covid cases, reports suggest that The Grammys could also be delayed for months as the Omicron variant spreads in LA.

The annual award ceremony is scheduled for the Crypto.com arena on January 31, 2022, with a star-studded line-up honouring the biggest names in music.

However, according to entertainment website Showbiz 411, the event’s organisers may be forced to reschedule the show to either March or April due to the pandemic and are considering alternate venues, including the Hollywood Bowl.

Reports also suggest that artists are reluctant to commit to attending the event due to fears over Covid.

Jazz musician Jon Batiste leads this year's Grammy nominations with 11 nods, while Justin Bieber, Doja Cat and H.E.R. have eight nominations each.

The Grammys has yet to comment on the reports and no new date has been set for the Critics Choice Awards, which was originally set to be held on January 9.
