The final season of hit sitcom Derry Girls wrapped shooting this week and Channel 4 has released a 20-second teaser clip of what's in store when the series returns next year.
Tweeting a selfie on the set of the anarchic show earlier this week, the show’s creator Lisa McGee said, "last day of school".

Star Nicola Coughlan, who plays Clare Devlin on the Channel 4 series and who has gone on to further success on period drama Bridgerton, tweeted "it's been quite a ride" after she completed shooting the last episode of the series, which has been off air since 2019 due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

McGee has previously said that Derry Girls was always intended to end after three seasons.
In a statement in September, she said "Who knows if Erin, Clare, Orla, Michelle and James will return in some other guide someday, but for now, this is it for us and we're excited to start filming this series with our incredible cast and crew to hopefully take our loyal fans on one last adventure."

"Derry Girls is a love letter to the place I come from and the people who shaped me. It has been an honour to write it and I will forever be proud of everything it's achieved," she added.
