Will there be joy in the Rovers for Jenny this Christmas? We caught up with Corrie actress Sally Ann Matthews to find out how she celebrates when she is not pulling pints.
What would you buy your character for Christmas?
Binoculars and listening devices because Jenny loves knowing everyone else's business.
What is your character’s Christmas wish this year?
To get it over and done with. 2021 has been a tough year for Jenny.
How do you normally spend Christmas?
We have a very quiet time at home and then the 'Matthews Family Christmas’ around the 28th which is always raucous!
What is your favourite Christmas memory?
The time my mum forgot to defrost the turkey so we had cheese and ham toasties with all the trimmings!
Do you have a Christmas tradition?
As well as the mince pie and carrot for Santa and Rudolph, my kids always made them a noughts & crosses and a word search. Santa had to work hard at our house.
What’s your favourite Christmas present you’ve ever received?
A Girl’s World when I was 10.
Have you ever re-gifted a present?
No, but I’m pretty sure I’ve received some!
What is your favourite part of Christmas dinner?
Parsnips, sprouts and my kids insist we have Yorkshire puddings too!
What is your favourite Christmas movie?
Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. Not Christmassy but traditional nonetheless.
What is your favourite Christmas song?
I used to love going to Midnight Mass when I was a kid and singing all the carols.
