Former RTÉ news reporter Charlie Bird opened up on Friday night's Late Late Show about dealing with life since his Motor Neuron Disease diagnosis.

"I will make no bones about it, I cry every day," he told Ryan Tubridy, while adding that he hopes to see his grandchildren grow up.

Also on the show, legendary country singer Daniel O’Donnell reflected on turning 60, while also talking about his late father, who died at the young age of 49.

"I'm glad that I'm 60," he said, while adding: "I don't think about age at all."

Meanwhile, Grainne Seoige was unveiled as one of the contestants on the new season of Dancing with the Stars.

"I think Ellen [Keane] will sort that out fairly lively though," she told Ryan Tubridy after hearing she was the bookies' favourite to win the upcoming run of the show.
