The Great British Bake Off, 8.00pm, Channel 4

It’s that time of year again as the three remaining amateur bakers in this run compete in the final of The Great British Bake Off.

All they need to do to impress judges Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith is produce a carrot cake worthy of winning.

Well, that and coming out tops in a technical based on a Belgian recipe and rustle up a showstopping banquet fit for the Mad Hatter's Tea Party.

Everything is still to play for - and Noel Fielding and Matt Lucas are on hand to lighten the atmosphere if it all gets too tense.

Pushing further back, he finds seven-times-great grandparents who fled religious persecution in France and a goldsmith who survived the Great Fire of London.

The programme explores his beginnings in northern clubs and appearance on talent show Opportunity Knocks, and charts Dawson's rise to stardom. Contributors include John Cleese, Robert Webb and Russell Kane.
