Writer-director Kenneth Branagh's semi-autobiographical Belfast shares the most nominations - 11 - for this year's British Independent Film Awards.

Belfast-born Branagh's Oscar-tipped film, which is released in Irish cinemas on 25 February next year - is joined in the top spot by the one-shot restaurant drama Boiling Point.

Belfast's nominations include nods for stars Caitríona Balfe, Jude Hill, Ciarán Hinds and Julie Walters, and a place on the Best Music shortlist for Van Morrison. Jamie Dornan, who also stars in the film, has missed out on a nomination and Branagh is not included on the writer or director shortlists.

Newry-born director Cathy Brady, who made her feature directorial debut earlier this year with Wildfire, is shortlisted for Best Debut Director and Best Debut Screenwriter.
