It follows the disappearance of a working class student, and the subsequent arrest of one of her classmates - the daughter of one of Britain's wealthiest families.
The leading officer in the case is horrified by her suspect's lack of empathy, and tries to persuade a reluctant crown prosecutor to press charges.
