Adele lands straight in at Number 1 on this week's Official Irish Singles Chart with her new single Easy On Me, outperforming the rest of the Top 5 combined.

The track, which heads up Adele’s forthcoming album 30, is the star’s fourth chart-topper in Ireland, following Someone Like You (2011), Skyfall (2012), and Hello (2015).

Adele’s comeback has sent fans back to her catalogue this week, leading to two more of her songs featuring in the Top 50 – When We Were Young at 19, and Love In The Dark (both from 2015’s 25) at 24.

Last week’s Number 1, Ed Sheeran’s Shivers, drops to 3 after five weeks at the summit, while Lil Nas X’s That’s What I Want rises two places to new peak at 4.

Two songs enter the Top 10 for the first time this week: Becky Hill & Topic’s My Heart Goes (La Di Da) jumps from 11 to Number 8, and Coldplay & BTS’ My Universe zooms from 17 to Number 10. Following the release of Coldplay’s new album Music Of The Spheres, the band land a second entry in the Top 50 with Selena Gomez collaboration Let Somebody Go at 25.

Over on the album chart Coldplay's new album Music Of The Spheres enters at number 1.

The band's ninth studio album becomes their sixth to reach the summit in Ireland, and their first in seven years, since 2013’s Ghost Stories.

Coldplay

Coldplay’s number 1 albums in Ireland are: A Rush Of Blood To The Head (2002), X&Y (2005), Viva La Vida Or Death And All His Friends (2008), Mylo Xyloto (2011), and Ghost Stories (2013).

The imminent arrival of Adele’s new album 30 sends her previous two albums 25 and 21 to Numbers 2 and 4 respectively, while her debut record 19 climbs to Number 21.

Elsewhere in the Top 10, a reissue of The Beatles’ iconic Let It Be is new at 3, frontman of Irish rock band Aslan Christy Dignam enters at 7 with his legacy solo debut The Man Who Stayed Alive, and County Carlow country singer Derek Ryan lands at 10 with Soft Ground.
