I'm a musician from Limerick.
I own more hats than guitars (and I love guitars).
I'm older than I think.
How would you describe your music?
"Give it another chance".
Who are your musical inspirations?
Jeffrey Lewis, Neil Young, PJ Harvey, Oh Sees, Beastie Boys, Lee Hazelwood, Cate Le Bon, Paul McCartney, Helmet, and others.
What are you most looking forward to post-lockdown?
I don't know to be brutally honest. The whole thing has left me very much in a dark kind of daze, with every forward step being taken tentatively. I'd like the all-pervasive daze to finally lift, I guess.
What's your favourite song right now?
Elusive Dreams as performed by Lee Hazelwood and Nancy Sinatra. I can't believe how slyly sad that song is, it still knocks me out each time I listen. I've heard it hundreds of times at this stage, and I still get sucker punched by the weight of the lyrics.
Favourite lyric of all time?
"Please don't confront me with my failures, I had not forgotten them" - These Days by Jackson Browne/Nico.
If you could only listen to one song for the rest of your life what would it be?
God Only Knows - Beach Boys.
