Succession star Brian Cox has revealed that fans will be deep into season three before they see his favourite scenes involving his character, Logan Roy.

In an interview with the Hollywood Reporter, Cox spoke of his love for a scene in which he plays opposite co-star Jeremy Strong, who stars as Logan's son Kendall.

"I think it's either episode eight or episode seven, I can't remember, and it's a wonderful scene," he teased.

"And then the denouement scene is also wonderful," Cox continued. "And I love the stuff with Alexander Skarsgard [playing tech CEO Lukas Matsson], so [that] stuff pays off wonderfully for me."

When asked what he could say about Logan's story arc this season, Cox gave little away.

"Of course, he's got an arc, but it's just dealing with stuff that needs to be dealt with, so therefore the arc is created by the circumstances and the conditions," he replied.

"It's the conditions that inform the actions and inform how the actor reacts and how the actor plays, so all of that is falling into place as you're doing it.

"I have such faith in the writers' rigour, and they are tremendously rigorous, I know that in the end, the integrity of the show is always going to be in place"

"When I was younger, I used to think of the arc and of the character, but in a show where it's all middle act … if you think about it, you do a 10-episode season, you just say that's what the flow is, it's 10 episodes. And you have to deal with it over 10 episodes and inhabit it over 10 episodes, and that's the fun and the joy of it, but you can't be trapped by that."

Succession continues on Sky Atlantic on Monday nights.
